Wqpx full power or sta ?

I was wondering if WQPX is currently operating at it's full licensed power of 528 kW or at its lower STA power of 102 kW?

It's broadcasting at full power. The thing is it doesn't broadcast from Penobscot like the rest of the stations, it broadcasts from Scranton so some people might have problems.

Re: Wqpx full power or sta ?

I was curious if there are any plans at all to increase power or move this station to the Penobscot tower location. In analog days, I was able to pick up 64, but it was fairly snowy. Since the transition, I haven't even seen it show up in channel scans so I can't even try to watch. Seeing that 64 has 4 sub-channels makes me REALLY want it, but being down near danville/sunbury - I currently can't

No idea if they have any plans to upgrade, their power is pretty high, it's more of an issue with obstruction from the other higher mountains in the area. I was barely able to pick up 64 in analog too. With digital the most I get is a low signal reading that's enough to lock on to the signal, but not enough to decode the PSIP data.

Re: Wqpx full power or sta ?

There is, Penobscot, the problem was that it was pretty full at the time WQPX launched with the digital transition just getting started and most of the extra space was reserved for the future digital transmitters that would be running side by side with the analogs for most of the next decade. WSWB plans to move there but it won't be for another year or two as they need to get an engineer's analysis and find a new number, and then wait for the FCC to approve it.

Don't know what WQPX's long term plan is, they're pretty much financially strapped at this point and their parent company filed for bankruptcy a while back.
